Obituary:
Wes lived a full life. Born in Visalia, California, then to Exeter and stayed until the very end. Born and raised in a farming family, his love for livestock lead him to the world of horses and cattle. In high school, Wes qualified for the National High School Rodeo finals. He traveled by jumping rail cars in order to make it to New Mexico. It was there that Wes entered and won the bareback event.

Wes led two 30 mule strings in the wide lands of the Sierra Nevada’s, from Fresno to Bakersfield, supplying hunters and ranch hands with supplies and goods. Wes was doing what he loved and living life to the fullest. Working for the Riata Ranch, Correa Ranch, and Gill Ranch, Wes started many colts. As one would guess, his hard work produced winners. His love for team roping was apparent to everyone. A lot of people called him partner over the years. Selling cattle supplements kept him busy and chatting. Spending money was not his favorite thing to do, but he never hesitated to buy a young child ice cream at the sale barn. Far more people than we will ever know have been mentored and inspired by Wes regarding horsemanship, roping, showing and any other subject he felt you should learn.

Wes is preceded in death by his Parents Winfred and Irene Campbell and older Brother Ronald Campbell.
He is survived by his Son Wesley “Lee” and Jodi (Davenport) Campbell. Granddaughter; Jordan Campbell Amanda Sant and Hailee Runels, Sister Ina and Joe Ponzo. Nieces; Kellie Ponzo and Rhonda Campbell. Nephews: Michael Campbell and Dana Campbell. Great Nephew Jonathan Ponzo. Best Buddies Lester and Tuffy

Good luck to you, old riding’ partner. May your first loop always hit, May you pony never set up hard, and your dally never slip.
