David Patino was the first of 6 children born on August 6, 1958. Born to Christine Vega of Farmersville and Frank Patino of Farmersville. Originally from Kerrville TX, the family moved to the central valley of Californian in 1960 and lived in Farmerville. During David’s high school years, he was very active in Track and Football. David was know around Porterville and Exeter as “Pan Head Dave” due to his unique and classic bike that is still envied by many Harley Davidson riders and enthusiast in the area. Also missing from the list of family members is David's littlest sister, Lynette Menchaca of Porterville. She is married to Carlos Mechaca, and added a niece and nephew to David's massive collection, Logan Menchaca and Gabby Menchaca. Lynette got the opportunity many times to visit with David during his dialysis while in Porterville, and visited him often while he was in the hospital last month. The formed a bond as only a true brother and sister could, and they spent many a wonderful hour together. She regrets not having had the opportunity to grow up in his shadow, but cherishes the moments they had while he was alive. She loves David and misses him tremendously, as do I. He will be missed.
