Obituary:
Alta “Jane” Cooksey, 55 of Exeter, CA passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, September 16, 2011. She was born to Joseph and Lois Carline Hilsman on November 13, 1955. Jane later had three children that she raised on her own from a previous marriage. She met Gordon Cooksey in 1987, the man that she would spend the rest of her life with. On June 28, 1995 she married Gordon, and with his three children they brought two families together to become one.
She was a loving mother and devoted wife to Gordon. They knew they were a perfect match from the start. She loved doing everything together with Gordon and the kids from spending time on their land to going and playing bingo at the casino. She especially loved spending time with all her family. She always welcomed everyone into her family and made them feel loved. Her smile and laugh would light up a room. There has never been a sweeter woman and we are all fortunate to have had her in our lives. It’s hard letting go after only having her in our lives for such a short time, but we know she gave her heart to God and now she has her wings in Heaven. Someday we will all be reunited with her again.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and she will be greatly missed by everyone. Jane is preceded in death by her father Joseph Hilsman, mother Lois Hilsman, daughter Tabitha Cooksey, brothers Bobby and Jerry Harring and sister Reba “Cookie” Vance.
Jane is survived by her husband Gordon of Exeter, her children Leon Peck of Farmersville, Jodan Peck of Exeter, Nikki Bradford of Exeter, Gordon “Bill” Cooksey of Visalia, and Tiffany Resetarits of New York. She is also survived by one brother, Corky Hilsman, 19 Grandchildren and 1 new Great Grandson.
