Obituary:
Paul Ray Parton was born in Hector, Arkansas on February 18, 1923 and passed away on September 29, 2009 at age 86. He is preceded in death by his brothers John and Roger. Paul came to California from Arkansas with his father Elmer and brother John during the dust bowl days in 1937. When they arrived they lived in Woodville and worked in the “fields“. Later, they owned and operated service stations and a trucking business under the name F.E. Parton and Sons. He was drafted during WWII and served in the Army Air Corps as a mechanic and was honorably discharged in 1946. Later that year, he married Ellawease Wilson in Reno, Nevada. They lived in Farmersville for most of their married life, except for a brief period when Paul worked in Beverly Hills for Shell Oil. In the 1960’s Paul was a Babe Ruth Coach and served on the Farmersville City Council. His father Fred Parton also served on the council and was the Mayor of Farmersville. He was a wonderful husband and father and considered a friend by many. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ellawease, daughter Lavonne Hood of Farmersville, son Ron and daughter-in-law Christine Parton of Redding, California.
