Obituary:
Dell moved to Visalia with his family in 1925, He graduated from Visalia High School and Visalia Jr. College. He served in the U.S. Army, 106th Infantry during WW11, Primary role being Night Recon. After returning home he met and married his wife of 65 years Alberta Guffey in 1948.They moved to Exeter in 1958. He worked for the Edison Company for 32 years before retiring in 1982.
Dell had a lifelong passion for building and flying Model Airplanes which he shared with his son. He was a founding father of the Sky Kings of Tulare, during which time he set 2 National records with an airplane of his own design. In the early 1970's he became another founding father of C.V.C.C. soaring club. He gained a reputation far and wide for his quality craftsmanship in his airplane construction.
Most of all, he will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grand and great grandfather, with a great sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his father- Gayland Elmo Henry, Mother Velma Henry and sister Virginia Huff.
Dell is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alberta of Exeter; one son Bob Henry and his wife Leatrice of Porterville; his grandson, Matt Henry and his wife Kasey of Exeter; one granddaughter Nevada Henry of Exeter and three great great-grandchildren Bryce, Zakk and Tyranny.
