Obituary:
Frances Lee Wilson Quignon Gomez was born on November 26, 1938 and would have been 76 this year. She was born in Modesto, California and lived there until her family moved to Lawndale, California when she was in high school where she attended Luezinger High School and graduated in 1956. She married young and had three children by the time she was 21 and a few years later added one more. In 1965 she and her little family moved to Carson where they bought their first house and she and her second husband Fernando lived there until 2004 when they relocated to Exeter, California. A few months later her youngest daughter and her son moved nearby and a year later, her oldest daughter relocated to the area as well. Frances started her career working as a full charge bookkeeper for meat company in 1975 and moved on to work as a Controller for an Ambulance company and then a photo masking company where she stayed until retirement in 2003.
Since moving to Exeter, her and her husband Fernando found friendship at Visalia Community Covenant Church and Frances became involved with the Exeter Friendship Connection, where she was still the Treasurer up until her passing. They loved living in this community of close-knit friends and family and adjusted to ‘country’ living quickly.
Frances is survived by her children, Lorraine Boydstun of Strathmore, David Quignon of Citrus Heights, Tamera Fernandez of Exeter, and Robert Bolinger of Oklahoma. She is also survived by her brothers Jim Wilson of Hawthorne, John Wilson of Texas, her sister, Juanita Spellmen of Gardena, and her step-brother Dennis Hudson of Anahiem.
Frances was well-loved. She was sweet and cared about people and loved joining in activities and functions. In the past few years she was much limited by her hearing loss and the vision in one eye, but she still enjoyed doing things to help people and always tried to encourage and support others. She will be missed, but we all know that she is singing and dancing in Heaven with Jesus and has a perfect body that doesn’t have any problems. She is enjoying catching up with her husband, her parents and her grandson, who all welcomed her with open arms. We were blessed for a short time, and can’t wait to be reunited with her again soon.
