Allen Karsten - age: 62
(April 24, 1952 to November 24, 2014 ) Resident of Lemon Cove, California Visitation Information: Visitation will be on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Evans Miller Guinn Exeter Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Woodlake Christian Center, 799 North Valencia Blvd,Woodlake CA. Burial will be on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Bakersfield National Cemetery. Obituary: Allen Karsten was born on April 24, 1952 in Stockton, CA to James and Ruby Dolen Karsten. He passed away at home on November 24, 2014 at the age of 62. Allen served his country in the US Marine Corp. He worked for the Federal Prison System as a Correctional Officer for over 14 years. In March of 1982, he married Sylvia in Lake Tahoe, NV. He loved to be outside, hunting, fishing and being with his cows. Allen was a great mentor. Everyone went to him for advise and he gladly helped. Allen is survived by his wife, Sylvia of Lemon Cove; his father James Karsten of Hesperia; his mother Mary Sharver of Visalia; four sons, Jimmy Karsten of Whittier, Anthony Karsten of Bakersfield, Danny Herrera of Lemon Cove and David Herrera of Las Vegas; two brothers Karl and Bobby and one sister Diane all of Visalia. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
