Danny was born October 10, 1954, to Jean Paul Denis and Jacqueline Juliette (Lyman) Denis in Montreal, Canada. The family moved to La Puente, Calif., when Danny was eight years old where he attended schools, graduating from Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights.
Danny first came to Three Rivers in the late 1960s to visit family. He resided in the community off and on for many decades until finally settling here 19 years ago.
From an early age, Danny had a passion for music; drums were his instrument of choice, and he was a lifelong percussionist. As a Canadian citizen, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1972 and served as a jet engine mechanic in Germany and Vietnam before being discharged in 1974.
After driving a milk truck in Modesto, long-haul trucking, and running a hydraulics company with his father, Danny worked as a key grip in Hollywood and toured with White Zombie. Later, Danny relocated to the Central Valley and owned a freight brokerage in Visalia.
Danny happily settled in Three Rivers, working at Three Rivers Golf Course and providing maintenance and repair services for local businesses and residents. In 2010, Danny became the proud co-owner of Antoinette’s Coffee & Goodies where he established a weekly Bible study group.
During Jazzaffair 2019, he was sound engineer at the St. Anthony Retreat Center and most recently transported guests for a Three Rivers event venue. Danny enjoyed all types of racing and playing golf.
For the last five years, Danny played conga drums with the Nazarene Worship Band in Visalia and with the Rudy Parris Worship Band.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Jean Paul Denis; brother Andre Pierre “Pete” Denis; brother Claude Denis; uncle Pierre Lyman; and nephew Heath Duncan.
Danny is survived by his life partner, Antoinette Cloutier; his children, sons Daniel, Ryan, and William, and daughter Brandy; his mother, Jacqueline Duncan of Visalia; sister Christiane Denis of Three Rivers; brother Clyde Duncan of Los Angeles; brother Mark Duncan of Chicago, Ill.; brother Mike Duncan of Texas; cousin Pierre Lyman and wife Gail of Three Rivers; cousin Josee Lyman of Three Rivers; sister-in-law Mary Denis; trusted friend Frederick Michael “Boston” Perry; and a large, extended family as well as his beloved pets.
He will be missed by many.
