Visitation will be held Monday, February 24, 2020 from 2:00 - 6:00 pm located at Evans Miller Guinn Chapel, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 pm. Chapel Service will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 1:00 PM located at Evans Miller Guinn Chapel. Burial will be at Tulare District Cemetery.
Obituary:
Josephine Castaneda was born in Carrillo, TX to Pedro and Josefina (Tremillo) Arevalo on February 22, 1930. She passed away in Visalia, CA on February 19, 2020 at the age of 89. She was brought to Tulare County at the age of 1 month and was raised at Tagus Ranch on Highway 99. She went to County School at Tagus Ranch. Her family moved to Selma at the age of 13 and she finished school there. She met and married Juan Castaneda and they made their home in Hanford. The couple moved to Farmersville in 1952. Josephine worked as a custodian at Lincoln School in Exeter for many years. Juan passed away on January 23, 2013
Josephine in preceded in death by her husband, her brother Ascension Arevalo, her sister Antonia Contreras and her granddaughter that she raised, Jeanie Castaneo,
Josephine is survived by her sons, Pete Castaneda (Sue) of WA, Robert Castaneda (Rosario) of Exeter; daughter Rosemary Hartman (Donald) of Visalia; sisters Maria Santiago of Mexico, Rosie Saucedo of Farmersville, Geneva Reyna of Lindsay. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
