Obituary:
Coney Rhea, 83, of Exeter, passed away on October 17th in Visalia California.
Coney Rhea was born in Little Rock Arkansas to Coney Sr. and Martha Rhea. He enlisted in the military at the age of 16 and finished high school while he was enlisted. He was a radio communications expert working on the A-10 jets in the Air force. While in the military, he was honored to serve on Airforce One during the Eisenhour, Kennedy, and Johnson administrations. He also served in the Vietnam War. After his 21 years of military service, he retired from the Air Force and perused his AA from Reedley College with hopes of being a police officer, which he did for a short while serving as a Tulare County Sherriff on a part time basis. After the military he worked as a maintenance man/electrician for Bostitch and promoted to a VP in the same company in NC. He did similar work for Real Fresh. He was considered a jack of all trades and could fix anything.
He was a hard-working man who loved his family. He enjoyed a good deer hunt, a day spent fishing, and any time spent outdoors. He always had a faithful dog to greet him at the door when he came home. He and his wife enjoyed collecting depression era glass, often attending estate sales, he liked researching the value of pieces. Later in life, he could be found at the casino working the slots, but what he loved the most was spending time with his family.
Coney was preceded in death by two of his children, Gary Rhea, Cheryl Caggianelli, and sister Jean Ward.
Coney is survived by his wife Debbi Rhea, children Coney Rhea and wife Tracie, Karen Rhea and partner Henry Camacho, Debbie Hawkins and husband Jimmy, Paul Riggs and partner Celestina Sosa, his brother Kevin Rhea and wife Connie, his grandchildren Danny Caggianelli, Serena Rico, Donny Caggianelli, Evanie Camacho, Megan Jones, Tiffany Camacho, Chelsea Sears, Natalie Rhea, Jonah Hawkins, Noah Hawkins, Jewel Riggs, Keven Riggs, Christian Riggs, and 12 great grandchildren.
