Graveside Services will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Exeter District Cemetery, 719 East Marinette Avenue in Exeter. Obituary:
Karen Ann Childree entered into eternal rest peacefully in the presence of family on October 30th, 2021 in Porterville, CA. She was 56 years old. Karen was born in Fresno, CA on July 31st, 1965, to Dee Allen and Joyce Ann (Brown) Brannum. She grew up around the Orange Cove and Dinuba areas. While in high school she met the love of her life, Mike Childree. Karen and Mike were married on October 15th,1983 and together they had three children, Donna, Robert, and Lori.
She was a stay-at-home mom and wife for many years. When her children became pre-teens, Karen went back to school and earned her High School diploma. In 1999 Mike and Karen moved their family from Visalia, CA to Porterville, CA where she started her 21-year career as an Office Manager at Cranes Towing. Karen loved spending time with her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts with them and taking them on trips to the beach and Disneyland. She also loved traveling and spending time with her loving husband. The two of them did everything together and rarely would you see one without the other. She had a huge heart and didn't like seeing anyone struggle for food or money. She would always lend a helping hand to those in need. Her generosity, love, and soft-spoken voice will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Dee Allen and Joyce Ann (Brown) Brannum, Shirley Michelle Brannum (sister), Walter (Don) Childree, and Mary Ann Childree (Father and Mother-in-law)
Karen is survived by her husband of 38 years Mike Childree. Three children; Donna Ware and husband Kevin Ware, Robert Childree and wife Tonya Childree, and Lori Childree. Five grandchildren; Savannah Ware, Kira Ware, Bentley Ware, Gracie Childree, and Jazarrah Childree. Seven siblings; Dee Allen Brannum Jr. and wife Eileen Brannum, Tammy Jones, Susan Brannum, Duane Brannum and fiancé Marybel Espindola, DeRhonda Brannum and husband Bryan Davis, Crystal Brannum, and Kevin Brannum and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved pet, Sammy.
