Graveside Services will be at Three Rivers Cemetery at 11am on Saturday May 14th, 2022. The cemetery is at the corner of Old Three Rivers Road and South Fork Dr. Following the service there will be a celebration of life at the First Baptist Church in Three Rivers located at 42013 Eggers Dr.
Obituary:
Richard Wayne Lafferty was Born on February 13th, 1969, at St Joseph’s Hospital in Van Nuys Calif. He passed away on April 11th, 2022. He grew up and went to school in Van Nuys and Attended Birmingham High School. After Graduating High School, Richard joined the Army on July 1, 1987 where he proudly served his Country and was honorably discharged on June 30, 1990 as an E4 Specialist with HHC 1st Battalion 63rd infantry in Ft Irwin CA. While serving he received the Army’s service ribbon, M-16 Marksman, Army Achievement Medal, and was an expert Hand Grenade specialist. Richard loved his family gatherings, being outdoors camping, water skiing, his church, his faith in God, & his Country. He received a black belt in Taekwondo in 1991 and was a youth coach for soccer. After the service Richard spent 10 years working at Anthem Blue Cross as an Insurance customer service representative and later became an Independent Insurance Broker for 20 years. He is Preceded in death by His Father Edward Hansford Lafferty and Mother Dawn Diane Lafferty and Nephew Michael Edward Dopko.
He is survived by his kids, Heather Pallotto, Gerritt & Mark Kirby, his Sister Carol Lynne Dopko, Brother Edward Hansford Lafferty II and Sister in law Sharleen Lynette Lafferty, God Son-Nephew Robert Edward Lafferty, Niece Shondra Lynn Nolte, Niece Ashlee Marie Nelson and Many Cousins of multiple generations.
