Obituary:
Norma Lee Svenhard (maiden name Anderson) passed away suddenly and moved to her Heavenly Home on February 17th, 2023, at age 85. She was born on August 28, 1937 in Oakland, California. She grew up primarily in Alameda and Oakland, but also lived in Grand Junction, CO for a year. When Norma was about 16 years old, the family bought a 10-acre farm in Vacaville. Norma graduated from Vacaville High School in 1955, then went to college where she earned her degree to become a teacher. She taught for awhile then joined the Army February 18, 1960. She rose to the rank of 1st lieutenant. While in the military, she met the love of her life on a blind date. After dating 3 weeks, Ronny Svenhard proposed to Norma, and she said yes. She exited the military July 1, 1963 and married her love July 4th, 1963. Ronny Svenhard helped his dad run Svenhard’s Swedish Bakery. The purpose of the bakery was to to support ministries. Ronny was also heavily involved in ministry, and Norma felt her calling was to do everything she could to free up Ronny’s time to fulfill God’s calling on his life. She helped in the bakery for a short time, but soon she was busy raising a family.
Norma had two daughters, Cynthia Ann Svenhard and Linda Marie Svenhard-Holmes. She loved being a mom and would take them on regular outings. When her daughter, Linda became a mom, she lavished her love on her beloved grandchildren, Robert James Patton and Kristina Marie Dorrough. Norma loved to play games and made sure her children and grandchildren developed a love for them as well. Many fun hours were spent playing those games.
Norma had a passion for research and writing. She wrote several articles that were published and even wrote her own book called “Wonder of Wonders”. She was writing a second book, but did not get the chance to finish it.
Norma, as well as Ronny were incredibly giving people. They generously gave of their finances and time to many ministries. Norma played a huge roll in helping Ronny fulfill his calling. Not just by being supportive, but by doing whatever she could to help the ministries he was involved in.
In her later years, she enjoyed being able to relax and enjoy being with the love of her life and daughter, Linda who was her and Ronny’s caregiver. Her whole being sparkled and love twinkled from her eyes until the Lord called her home one month after her love went home to be with the Lord. They are both greatly missed.
