Obituary:
Margaret Ellen Tucker was born on November 1, 1941 in Newhall, California to loving parents Los (Buck) and Orlin Tucker.
When she was young, her family moved to Farmersville, California. Her father farmed his land while her mother was a homemaker. While growing up in Farmersville she attended elementary and middle school and helped her family on the farm when needed. She graduated Exeter Union High School in 1959. Along with her parents she attended church regularly with her brothers, Robert, Dewayne, and Sister Beverly. She loved to sing church hymns and admired her daddy’s tenor voice. He encouraged her to also sing. Her love of the gospel music and other genres of music continued to comfort her throughout her life. She grew up knowing both maternal and paternal family members who lived nearby. Frequently her family spent time together at family gatherings on her parent’s farm for after church dinners, holidays, celebrations or for larger reunions at Mooney’s Grove. Her family would also travel to visit other family member in parts of California, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
While attending High School she enjoyed social activities especially dancing the Jitterbug to the well-known 50’s music. Her enjoyment of all types of music and dancing were always in her heart. She would always smile when she listened to music. When she heard a familiar song she would move to her own groove.
In 1959 she married Kenneth Ray Loyd of Atkins, Arkansas. They resided in Exeter, California and she began working at a telephone company. She and Kenneth Ray went on to have 3 children. Daughter Sherri, Son Kenton R., and Daughter Kimberley. She and Kenneth eventually settled in Pleasant Hill, California. After her children were all attending school, she began working at the Concord Naval Weapons Station as a PBX telephone operator. She thoroughly enjoyed her job operating the plug style telephone board placing calls inside and outside of the United States for base personnel.
In 1977 she met and married David Jenkins. She now had a blended family with 2 younger step children, Son Tony and Daughter Shannon Jenkins. There were many fun memories with the family on the weekends and holidays whether enjoying outside activities, dinners, playing games, or just watching TV.
A little later in life she volunteered at a local hospital in the gift shop and delivered reading materials to patients. This lead to her becoming a home health aide as she assisted in the care of close friends and families by bring them joy. Her favorite part of assisting other was preparing the foods they most enjoyed. She was appreciated and loved by those whom she provided care.
As life progressed she was blessed with 4 grandchildren; Brandon, Krystal, D’Artagnon and Tristan. She was thrilled to be a grandma and her greatest joy was spending time with her babies and being able to be a part of their life and watching them grow.
Throughout her life she enjoyed playing all types of games with her family. She continued this tradition with her children, friends and more so with her grandchildren. Even in her later years while residing in an assisted care facility, she was known as the Domino and Bingo Queen.
Margaret Ellen was a caring, kind, energetic, and cheerful person. She was fun, loving, full of life, and kind hearted person. Her favorite place to travel was Hawaii or Carmel, CA. She loved the sun, the mountains, the lakes and especially any sandy beach. She loved her family unconditionally and was loved by all who knew her.
Ellen was called home peacefully to be with our lord Jesus on April 3, 2023 she will greatly missed.
She is preceded by her parents Lois and Orlin Tucker. Son Kenton R. Loyd and Brother Dewayne Tucker.
She is survived by Daughters, Sherri Harrison (Tom) of Oakley, CA, Kimberley Loyd of Astoria, OR. Daughter-In-Law Sabrina Loyd (Kenton R.) of Casper, WY. Grandchildren; Brandon Loyd (Brianne) of San Francisco, CA, and Krystal Loyd, D’Artagnon Loyd and Tristan Loyd of Casper, WY. Great-grandchildren; Kenton T. Loyd and Aysling Loyd of Casper, WY. Siblings; Brother Robert Tucker ( Jo Alice) of Phillipsburg, MT and Sister Beverly Tucker of Porterville, CA. Sister-In-Law Sue Tucker (Dewayne) of Canton, TX. Nephews; Tom Tucker (Marie) of Oak Hills, CA, Jerry Tucker (Renee) of Farmersville, CA. Niece Tammy Tucker Cocagne of Canton, TX.
