Lora Mae Martin - age: 79
(October 13, 1943 to May 10, 2023 ) Resident of Exeter, California Visitation Information: Graveside will take place on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Exeter District Cemetery. Obituary: Lora Martin of Exeter, CA passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 1, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at home. She was born to Lois and Zeciel Bridges on October 13, 1943, in Parkin, Arkansas where she attended school in her earliest years. In 1958 her family moved to Visalia, CA and she began to attend school at Union Elementary and later graduated from Mt. Whitney High School. In 1961 she married James L. Martin. Their union produced five children Laura, Vickie, Jimmy, Terrie, and Debbie. Throughout her life Lora worked hard in packing houses located in Visalia and Exeter before pursuing schooling to become a CNA. After becoming a CNA she served many men and women in the Visalia nursing homes. She is preceded in death by her siblings James Bridges, Roger Bridges, Ernest Bridges, Ruth Roberts, her twin Lola Vercruse, and Della Watson. Lora will always be remembered for her love of family and her kindness. She was always mom to her daughter’s friends. She will be dearly missed and will remain in our hearts always. She is with our lord Jesus and at peace. She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, brother Glen Bridges, and sister Peggy Nelson and sister-in-law Ann Bridges, Barbara Baxter.
