Sammie J. Breshears - age: 84
(January 02, 1939 to August 20, 2023 ) Resident of Visalia, California Visitation Information: Graveside Service will take place on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Exeter District Cemetery Obituary: Sammie J. Breshears passed away on August 20, 2023 with his family by his side in Visalia, CA. Sammie was born January 02, 1939 to Samuel Breshears and Hester Breshears in Yell County, Arkansas. Early in life, his family came to California to seek a better life for their family. Sammie attended Exeter High School where he made many life-long friends which he remained in contact with throughout his life. In his career, Sammie began working the fields and orchards around Exeter. He one day saw a truck go by and quickly realized that was what he wanted to do. He shortly thereafter began driving a truck for a living. That was the beginning of the pathway that led him to the Teamsters Union Local 94 Role. During Sammie’s time with the Teamsters and he remained there till his retirement. Sammie enjoyed his cars and RV. He spent many weekends camping with friends and family. This was his some of his happiest times, spending it with others in the mountains fishing and hunting. Sammie married Linda Ruth Bayless in 1964 in Visalia, CA. He is survived by two son’s Ryan Lee Breshears and Eric Breshears, two grandchildren Casey and Riley Breshears, and a sister Lorene Owensby. Sammie is preceded by wife Linda Breshears, son John (Ramsey) Breshears, sisters Linda Edwards and Alene Reimer, and a brother Vance Breshears.
