Patricia Ann Farris - age: 89
(May 28, 1934 to March 28, 2024 ) Resident of Visalia, California Obituary: Patricia Ann Farris passed away early in the morning of Thursday, March 28, 2024 in Visalia, California. She was 89 years old, just two months from her 90th birthday. She was born May 28, 1934 in Zelienople, Pennsylvania, to Gabriel and Violet Sayti. She was raised and attended school there. Pat’s dream as a teenager was to head west to the Sierra Nevada Mountains and be a lookout for the Forest Service. Pat moved to Lancaster, CA in 1960, and later lived in Bishop and Mammoth Lakes. She worked for Rock Creek and Red’s Meadow Pack Stations, and was honored at Mule Days 2022 as Favorite Backcountry Cook. She managed the original Sport Chalet Motel, as well as some of the other lodgings in Mammoth. She also owned Peruvian Paso horses for many years, including a mare which was imported from Peru. She enjoyed playing Scrabble with her cousin Cookie, and assembling jigsaw puzzles. Patricia is survived by her two daughters, Valerie and Melissa; grandchildren Jeffrey, Sonya, Cory, Andrew, Devon; and great-grandchildren Christopher, Hannah, Jonathan, Camilla and Nova. Also by her brother, Dennis Sayti and his family; cousins Carol Wilson, Harry DiBiaggio and their families; and nephew Michael Sayti and his family. She is survived by her long-time Partner, Danny Thron as well. “The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from and where it is going.
