Obituary:
Robert Ethan Marquez, a bright young man whose life touched many, passed away peacefully on October 3rd, 2024, at Kaweah Health Medical Center. At just 19 years old, Robert's journey on this earth came to an end, but the impact he made during his short time with us will resonate for years to come. His loving parents, Robert Marquez and Dusty Qualls, were by his side as he transitioned from this world to the next.
Born on January 13th, 2005, in Tulare, CA, Robert was a child who captivated those around him with his vibrant spirit and insatiable curiosity. From an early age, it was clear that Robert possessed a remarkable imagination and an energetic personality that would define much of his life. His rambunctious nature was paired with a quick wit, making him a joy to be around and ensuring that there was never a dull moment when Robert was present.
Robert's interests were diverse and pursued with enthusiasm. As a child, he had a particular fondness for the game of chess, approaching each match with a strategic mind and competitive spirit. Those who played against him quickly learned that victory against Robert was never handed out – it had to be earned through skill and cunning.
Video games were another passion of Robert's. He found joy and camaraderie in the virtual worlds he explored, often staying up until the early hours of the morning engaged in friendly competition with his NSI buddies. These late-night gaming sessions were more than just play; they were a way for Robert to connect with friends and build lasting relationships.
Academically, Robert was an excellent student. His natural intelligence, coupled with his curiosity and determination, led him to excel in his studies. After graduating from University Preparatory High School, Robert pursued higher education at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. There, he embarked on a challenging course of study in Computer Science, a field that perfectly aligned with his analytical mind and love for technology.
Those who knew Robert remember him for his compassionate nature and bravery. In the face of life's challenges, Robert approached obstacles with remarkable resilience and determination. Yet, this strength was always balanced by his kindness and generosity towards others.
Robert had a unique ability to brighten the lives of those around him. His quick wit could lift spirits in an instant, while his compassionate nature ensured that he was always there for friends and family in times of need. His infectious laughter was a source of joy for all who heard it, and his zest for life inspired those around him to live more fully.
Robert is survived by his loving parents, Robert Marquez and Dusty Qualls, as well as his siblings Sydney Barnett, Zach Qualls, Tristan Qualls, and Logan Qualls. The bond he shared with his family was strong and enduring, and he will be deeply missed by all of them.
Beyond his immediate family, Robert leaves behind a wide circle of friends, classmates, and acquaintances whose lives were enriched by knowing him. From childhood companions to college friends, all who crossed paths with Robert were touched by his warmth, humor, and genuine spirit.
While Robert's time with us was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy is one of joy, resilience, and unwavering kindness. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the incredible person he was and the positive impact he had on so many lives.
