Thomas Franklin Tompkins - age: 84
(December 14, 1926 to February 02, 2011 ) Resident of Visalia, California Visitation Information: Visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Evans Miller Guinn Chapel. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Exeter District Cemetery. Military Honors will be under the Auspice of the AMVETS Post #56, Tulare. Obituary: Thomas F. Tompkins, 84, of Visalia CA passed away February 2, 2011. Tom married Marie Newton on September 13, 1951 and started their life together in Farmersville CA. Raising 4 children and attending The Pentecostal Church of God. Tom was on the Farmersville City Counsel Board for a few years, before moving to Woodlake, Ca in the 70’s. Tom was a dedicated Truck Driver for nearly 60 years and opened a family owned trucking company with his two sons Tommy and Mike Tompkins. After the passing of Marie Tompkins, He wed La Nita Johnson December 24, 2005, they resided in Visalia Ca. and spent time together traveling to Arkansas, his birth place, Missouri and other states enjoying life together. Tom will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, a true friend, and a great Father. He never turned his back on someone in need, he always had a happy smile to share, and lots of stories to tell of his years of experience in life. He leaves behind his wife, La Nita Tompkins of Visalia, and his 4 children and his wife La Nita’s 3 children, Son Tommy & Verna Tompkins, Daughter Marilynn & Carlos Smith, Son Mike & Valerie Tompkins, Daughter Maritta & Cary Reese all from Visalia Ca., Craig & Danella Carley of Visalia, James & Lisa Stephens of Lindsay and Jerry & Evonne Stephens of Lindcove. Tom also leaves behind 13 Grandchildren and 31 Great Grandchildren.
