I want to offer Jan's family deep condolences on her passing. I often forget that we're so much older and time is not our friend anymore. I so well remember Jan from when we were kids. Her family lived 2 doors down from mine on Teakwood Drive in Oildale...it seemed I spent as much time with her family as I did mine (or possibly more) from the time we were toddlers through 5th grade. After she moved to Taft although we still spent time together it wasn't the same and we eventually lost touch after she moved to Oxnard. I saw her for the last time just before she married. She was such a good friend and so much fun. In my memories, we always seemed to be laughing so hard our stomachs got cramps. Her brothers, Donald and Joh used to tease us mercilessly (especially John). I still have a picture of us together giving a math presentation at school. Over the years, I've looked for you, Jan, and am truly sorry that when I finally found you, you were already gone. I've missed you over the years, Janet. You will always hold a special place in my heart. I hope you had a wonderful life, dearest friend. I hope to see you again someday on the flip side. Jeannie Lipske McAbee
