Obituary:
In Loving Memory of Darrell Gene Kyle, born July 31, 1952, in Exeter, California, passed away on January 5, 2026, leaving behind a life rich with laughter, creativity, hard work, and deeply cherished relationships. Darrell lived fully and intentionally, valuing people above all else and leaving a lasting imprint through friendship, humor, and genuine connection. Darrell was a lifelong entrepreneur and worked as a painting and roofing contractor for many years. While he began his career working hands-on, his true strength was in the business side of his companies—guiding operations, building relationships, and turning ideas into successful ventures through determination and vision. At heart, Darrell was a people person. He loved deeply, valued his friendships profoundly, and had countless friends—each one important to him. A natural jokester who was frequently laughing, Darrell had a gift for storytelling and an ability to make others feel instantly welcome. His warmth, humor, and easygoing presence were constants that drew people in and left lasting memories. Darrell also carried a strong creative spirit. An avid musician and singer, he played guitar in a band during his younger years and performed at various concerts—experiences he held close and spoke of with pride. He also loved reminiscing about his time working security on the sidelines at Candlestick Park during the legendary Joe Montana era, sharing those stories often, always with a smile. In everyday life, Darrell found joy in simple pleasures: flying RC airplanes beneath open skies, fishing, cooking, watching football, playing pool—where he earned many trophies and awards—and tending to plants and gardens, a reflection of his natural green thumb. Darrell was a very generous man who always wanted to help people. Helping others brought him genuine happiness and was simply part of who he was. He was also a spiritual man who believed in something greater than himself. His faith and sense of spirituality quietly guided his life, shaping the way he treated others—with compassion, humility, and an open heart. Darrell’s greatest legacy lives on through his family. He is survived by his children: Christopher Kyle, Joseph Kyle (Sonia Kyle), Darla Splawn (Richard Splawn), Jeremy Kyle (Cheryl Bishop), and Andrew White. He was a loving grandfather to Jade Dallman, Nicolas Agostini, Sabrina Kyle, Joshua Kyle, Seth Kyle, Emma White, Grace Kyle, Ezekiel Kyle, and Zoey Kyle, and a devoted great-grandfather to Luke Dallman and Levi Dallman. He is also survived by his former spouses, Kathy Dock and Sheri Bollinger, with whom he maintained enduring friendships. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Margaret Kyle, and by all of his siblings: Loretta Havner, Donnie Kyle, Doyle Kyle, and Shirley Baxter. Darrell Gene Kyle will be remembered as a man who valued people above all else, lived with humor and heart, and left behind a legacy of generosity, love, laughter, and lasting friendships. Though he has left this world, his spirit lives on—in the stories shared, the bonds he built, and the many lives forever changed by knowing him.
