Until we meet again. Obituary: Alan Wayne Miller, 69, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with illness. Alan was born on December 5, 1956, in Mansfield, Missouri. He later graduated from Exeter Union High School in 1975. He lived in Exeter, California; Northwest Arkansas; and Ava, Missouri, forming lasting friendships wherever he went. A skilled mechanic, Alan trained in Arizona and worked in the trade for several years before transitioning to construction, where he remained until his health declined. He also spent many years at Casey’s General Store in Arkansas, becoming a familiar and beloved presence. Alan never met a stranger and was known for his kindness, humor, and genuine connection with others, including the local homeless community. Above all, Alan’s greatest pride was his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Delmar Miller, his mother, Dorothy Miller, and his brother, Rodney Miller. He is survived by his siblings: Carol Scott of Visalia, California; Larry Miller and his wife, Geaunia, of Gainesville, Missouri; Linda Costales of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Ronald Miller of Visalia, California; and Peggy Crandall of Visalia, California. He is survived by his daughter, Nisha Pruitt, and by Debbie Wilson-Miller, his former wife, high school sweetheart, and lifelong best friend, who remained a cherished and devoted part of his family. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Jacob Hernandez and his fiancée, Cara Irle, Keiana Hernandez, and Daisin Pruitt, all of Northwest Arkansas, and Deegan Pruitt of Birmingham, Alabama. Alan was the proud great-grandfather of Preston, Zada, Malakai, Kalayla, and Taylen, and was joyfully anticipating another grandson expected in September. Following his grandchildren, he is also survived by Arzell “Cole” Wilson, whom Alan loved and proudly called his son, along with Arzell’s wife, Kelsey, and their two boys, Rhett and Ryker. He was known for his daily “Good Morning” texts, a simple reminder of his love. Alan enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, teaching life skills to his grandchildren, sharing laughs, and spending time with family and friends. His humor and laughter brought joy to those around him. Though sometimes stubborn, Alan was deeply generous and compassionate, always willing to help others in need. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched through his kindness, humor, and unconditional love. His family will cherish the memories, lessons, and laughter he shared. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing his pain has ended. His love will live on in every sunrise, fishing trip, morning greeting, and shared smile. Alan will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Evans Miller Guinn Funeral Home.
