Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:30 am at the Visalia District Cemetery officiated by his Grandson, Pastor Bryan Griem. Obituary:
Armor Bud Estes passed away on October 12, 2009 in Visalia CA. He was born in Non, Oklahoma in 1918 being the youngest son of 9. He is the last to go home. Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Thelma R. Estes in 2004. He came to CA in his teens and met his wife to be, sharing that they were both born in Oklahoma. Bud made his living as a rancher, a taxi driver in Oakland CA and in the 1940’s in the Shipyards. He worked for Lyles Construction in the 50’s putting piping under ground throughout Visalia. He retired from being a custodian at Redwood High School from 1955 to the 70’s. Bud was very proud of his upkeep of Redwood High Football field and the grounds. He took pleasure in growing vegetables, giving them to loved ones and selling them at local Farmers Markets. He took pride working his 1 ½ acres of land as he did at his job.
Bud leaves Daughter Thelma Gunn and son in law Don with their children Mike, Chris , Tracey Drake, Duskey Wenche, all of Sacramento; Daughter Mary Griem and her sons Pastor Bryan of Tujunga, Eric of Visalia and Darin of Placerville. He is also survived by 16 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.
