Salud Rivas - age: 84
(February 10, 1928 to January 26, 2013 ) Resident of Exeter, California Visitation Information: Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Exeter Memorial Building, 324 North Kaweah Avenue, Exeter from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. A Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM at the Exeter Veterans Memorial Building. Burial will be in Mexico. Obituary: Salud Rivas Dominguez was born February 10th, 1928 in Cueramaro, Guanajuato and passed away on January 26th, 2013 in Exeter, CA. Salud was well known as “Mama Salud” by her family and anyone who had the pleasure to meet her. Salud preceded in death by her children, Carmelita Rivas, Jose Amador Rivas and her husband Prisciliano Rivas. She is survived by nine of her children, Juana Rivas Soto, Marta Rivas Castillo, Rogelio Rivas, Arturo Rivas, Prisciliano Rivas, Erasmo Rivas, Maria Del Carmen Hernandez, Lorena Rivas Alamillo and Jose D. Rivas. Salud was blessed with 32 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Salud came to the United States as a young mother alongside her husband, Prisicliano Rivas. Together they formed their family and worked hard to provide for their children. Salud’s family was blessed to have her and will forever appreciate the opportunities she provided for not only her children but their descendants. Salud was the matriarch of her family who set the example for independence, resilience, strength and values. Salud leaves behind many memories full of joy and laughter. Salud had a laugh that was contagious to anyone who heard it. Salud was the foundation for her family to thrive despite the adversities of her humble childhood. Salud will always be in the hearts of her family and those who knew her.
