Glen Dean Melvin - age: 82
(July 28, 1931 to January 01, 2014 ) Resident of Exeter, California Visitation Information: At his request, there will be no services. Burial will be in the Exeter District Cemetery. Obituary: Glen Dean Melvin was born in Laverne, OK to Ernest and Vergie (Clawson) Melvin. He moved with his family to Exeter in 1936. Dean graduated from Exeter Union High School. Following that, he served 4 years in the US Navy. He then entered Fresno State University for 4 four years. Dean was the Recreational Director for the City of Exeter, City of Dinuba, San Bernardino, and was a Director for the City of Sacramento for the Special Districts. He organized and supervised the first Pop Warner Football League which had 34 teams. Dean received several National awards for that. He spent over 27 years as a Park and Recreation Director. He is preceded in death by one sister Molly Peters. Dean is survived by four step daughters, Tiffany Tucker, Shauna Tucker, Stacey Tucker and Shelly Tucker; two sisters Carolyn Albert and Kay Lawrence.
