Visitation Information:
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM at Evans Miller Guinn Chapel. Mass will be said on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 1:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Visalia. Burial will be in the Exeter District Cemetery.
Obituary:
Carolina was born on July 30, 1929 in El Paso, TX to Gustavo and Ynes (Lucero) Madrid. She attended schools there. She married Pedro Chavira in El Paso on October 28, 1948. They moved as a family to the Kettleman City area in 1954 and then to Exeter in 1962. She later moved to Visalia. Carolina loved to travel, play dominos and shop. She loved her church and saying the Rosary. She also loved her family and Mexican Music. She is preceded in death by her husband Pedro; one son Santiago “Jimmy” Chavira; two daughters in law Shelly Diane England and Betty Jane Brown; one son in law Felipe Aguilar; two brothers Gustavo Madrid and Luis Madrid; and her parents.
Carolina is survived by her children Eloy J. Chavira (Anna J.) of Exeter, Elvia M Grim (Donald F.) of Exeter, Lucy C. Rutherford (Wayne) of Fresno, Inez C. Benavides (Ruben) of Visalia, Pete M. Chavira III of Visalia, and Evelyn C. Rios (Joel) of Visalia; two sisters Consuelo Emler and Teresa Marquez both of El Paso, TX. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
