Obituary:
Helen Louise Young was born on June 2, 1931 in Wagoner, OK to Arthur Joseph and Arlie Wallace Freeman and quietly passed away in September 2, 2014 at the age of 83.
The Freeman family moved to California where she met and married the love of her life, Royal Young on September 28, 1948. They spent 43 years together before Royal’s death on January 16, 1992. Helen worked for the Farmersville Unified School District as a cook for over 28 years until her retirement in 1991. Cooking meals for the children of Farmersville as well as her family was her passion and way to express her love. During her years of working for the school district she received several award for her community service including Farmersville’s Woman of the Year 1967, Hester Employee of the month February 1984 and Friends of Scicon Award for service in 1988. She spent her retirement loving and taking care of her eight grand children. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Don (Wanda), Bob (Tilda), Fred (Jeanie), Willie (Brooksie), Paul and Arthur Junior Freeman. Sisters, Juanita (Mac Mckinney and Tom Davis) and Lera Qualls.
She is survived by her sister Janice (Tom) Paul, sister in law Patsy Freeman, children Joel (Luanne) Young, Paula Young, David (Darla) Young, Grandchildren Lucas Young, Jocelyn (Nik) Freitas, Darlene (David) Castro, Dorie Young, Patrick Mortimer, Derrick Mortimer, Ian Mortimer, Elizabeth Mortimer and great grandchild Azalea Freitas.
