Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Evans Miller Guinn Chapel from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Graveside Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Exeter Public Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at First Presbyterian Church, 215 North Locust Streed, Visalia.
Obituary:
Billy Ray “Bill” Bruner, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away December 9, 2009. He was born April 4, 1926 in Sayre Oklahoma. He later moved to Marlow OK where he grew up. Bill joined the Navy before graduating high school and served two tours in the Pacific during WWII. Bill attended Pasadena City College, where he met his wife to be in 1948 and became student body President in 1949. Bill went on to attend and graduate from Purdue University, where his football career started. Family, friends, football and farming were his loves. Bill was involved in many activities including Church, Scouts, 4-H, farming, ranching, Farm Bureau and outdoor sports. He loved his career with the Soil Conservation Service.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and all 7 siblings, leaving behind his wife of 57 years, Laura Jane Burner, children Cliffton and wife Chris of Gilroy CA, William and wife Dawna of Hanford CA, Laura and husband Frank of Lindsay CA, grandchildren Joshua, Jessica and husband Mike, Frank Jr. and wife Lindsay, Michael and wife Melissa, Billy, Derrick and wife Donna, Heath, Rachael, and husband Tim, Christopher, Nikki, Michael, Savanah and Candy. He is also survived by great grandchildren Tammy, Alyssa, Patrick, Frank III, Jacob, Makiah, Maylanii, Sabella, Landon and Tanner. Friends and love ones are welcome to any or all of the services.
