Visitation will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Evans Miller Guinn Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Evans Miller Guinn Chapel with burial following at the Exeter District Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Worship Center, PO Box 9, Visalia, CA 93277.

Vetta Arlene Names was born in Bethany OK on August 29, 1924 to Ross and Opal Gilmore Jones. She passed away in her home in rural Exeter on April 28, 2015 at the age of 90, surrounded by her loving care-givers Diane Moffitt and Dana Little. Arlene moved to CA from OK where she met and married the love of her life George Names in Visalia. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage until his death in 2009. Arlene leaves 3 daughters, Linda and husband Steve Cline of Green Valley, AZ, Diane Moffitt and Dana Little of Exeter, Denice and husband Jim Gagnos of Exeter, CA; two sisters Elois Russell and Gladys Halverson of Minco, OK along with many nieces and nephews. Arlene also leaves 8 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Arlene is preceded in death by her husband George, her parents Ross and Opal, her three sisters Louise Nothstein, Yvonne Welch and Etoil Hensley. Arlene loved her family and managed her time between the household and parenting duties but had an active working life as well. She was a great cook and loved having her extended families and friends enjoy the meals, especially her home made pies. She worked for Anita’s Dress Shop in Visalia for many years where she never met a stranger but always greeted every customer with that friendly smile of hers. Later she assisted her husband in his cotton farming operation, hay harvesting business and then finished her working career driving a dump truck in their gravel hauling business. George and Arlene loved traveling around the country to see relatives and friends in their motor home. Arlene was a member of the Calvary Worship Center on Lovers Lane in Visalia although she was unable to attend for the past few years due to her declining health.
