Charles P Powell - age: 86
(December 26, 1928 to October 18, 2015 ) Resident of Three Rivers, California Visitation Information: Charles’ final resting place on earth will be the Three Rivers District Cemetery. Obituary: Charles Pope Powell Charles went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2015 surrounded by his wife of 65 years Betty Lou Powell and his two lovely girls, Sandra Anderson of Three Rivers and Tamra Kluczynski of Ventura CA. Charles is survived as well by his son Rocky Charles Powell and wife Kristi of Three Rivers; 5 grandchildren Korey Anderson and Kari Wagner of Jeffersonville IN, David Dobson, Jody Ingold and husband Jason all of Ventura and Cheri Powell of Three Rivers. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his 5 siblings, his son in law Chris Kluczynski and his granddaughter Nikki Rose Powell. Charles fought Parkinson’s disease for close to 30 years. He was born and raised in West Tennessee. Charles joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. During that time he was stationed in Port Hueneme, CA where he met, fell in love and married Betty. After being discharged from the Navy, Charles began his career as a Police Officer in Oxnard CA. Charles quickly worked his way through the ranks. He retired after 29 ½ after years. Charles and Betty built two homes before finding the beautiful little place of Three River where they bought a lot and built their home there. Charles was well liked and respected by all. He was a Man’s Man, strong, loving and humble. He was a man of faith and integrity. Some of his last words were “So Long Charlie” The Powell family would like to thank the LVN’s, CNA’s and all of the staff at Sun Villa Convalescent Hospital in Porterville. They truly cared for our Papa well.
