A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Vision Calvary Chapel, 20220 Road 196, Lindsay, CA for Arline Caroline Hilty, 96 of Strathmore who passed away January 1, 2018. Pastor Ryan Ruckman will officiate and interment will be private.

Obituary:
Arline was born August 4, 1921 in Versailles Missouri, the daughter of a farmer. Their family moved to the Strathmore area when she was small. Arline was raised and attended school in Strathmore, California. Arline married Calvin A. Hilty on September 21, 1946 at the Lindsay Brethren Church (now known as Vision Calvary Chapel) and afterward they settled in the Lindsay Strathmore area. After Arline received her thatching degree form LaVern University she taught first grade for several years in Lindsay. After teaching she was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother. She was also very active in The Brethren Church as an organist, pianist and Sunday School teacher. Arline served as president of the Sunnyside School PTO and also served on the board of the Strathmore Woman’s Club. She was also a cooking instructor in 4-H. In addition she will be remembered as loving to make counted cross-stitch for family and friends, canning hundreds of quarts of fruit every summer and she loved to entertain relatives and friends with little or no notice. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Arline is survived by her children, Wanda Thompson (Brad) of Exeter, Norma Goings (Randy) of Strathmore, Duane Hilty (Carol) of Strathmore, Jim Hilty (Sandra) of San Ramon as well as twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

We were sorry to hear of Arline's passing but rejoice that she is now in the presence of her savior and without pain. It is always a time of mixed feelings when an event like this occurs--joy that her physical ailments are over but there is still sorrow in the parting. We will keep the family in our prayers.
