Obituary:
Carmen was born to Benjamin and Manuela Martinez Cuevas on August 21, 1952 in Hanford CA. She moved to the Exeter Area as a child. She was a great person. Carmen was very compassionate, loving and always willing to help someone out. She never thought twice about helping people. As a mother she was spectacular: She never put anything before her children and didn’t miss an opportunity to spend quality time with them.
Carmen is survived by her father Benjamin; sons; Dimas Chavez, Cristobal Bautista, Socorro Bautista; daughters Manuela Bautista, Josefina Bautista; her sisters Rosa Vasquez, Lucila Martinez, Maria Sadruddin, Imelda Perez, Angelica Martinez, Elvia Smith, Sylvia Cuevas; her brothers Benjamin Cuevas, Eustorgio Cuevas, Miguel Cuevas, Daniel Cuevas.

My sister, you were my trusted confidant and bestfriend, on whose loving support I could always depend. Although I cry, I promise not to forget the loving memories you gave. But still I miss you so very much my dear sister, and your caring words I once again long to hear. My heart's only solace is one day I will see you as before calling me to join you. I will miss you until the day we're together in Heaven. Te quiero mucho tu querida hermana Melda.

Carmen was a very special woman. She seemed to take life as it came, good or bad, she would make the best of it. I know that she loved all 5 of her children very much. She showed it by always being there for them. She worked very long hours to provide for her family. She was not one to sit back and let others do things for her. The thing that I liked most about her was that she would tell it like it is. She wouldn't sugar-coat anything. She was always true to herself and true to everyone. Not many people are like that. I will always think of her everytime I pass by on Spruce because on her time off, she would be out in her front yard watering her plants and grass. I would honk my horn & she would smile & wave : ) Its difficult to realize that this will now only be a memory. May God keep her in his presence, peace, & tranquility for she will no longer endure the pain & suffering she may have gone through during her illness. May you rest in peace dear friend Carmen...
