(July 23, 1931 to June 17, 2018 ) Resident of Exeter, California Visitation Information: NO visitation Obituary: Charles David Dodson (Chuck) passed away on June 17, 2018. He was born July 23, 1931 in Paris, Arkansas to Algie Lafayette and Bessie May Dodson. He was the 5th child of 6 brothers and 1 sister. The family moved to Oxnard, CA when Chuck was 8 years old. Chuck attended Oxnard schools where he graduated from Oxnard Union highschool. He met his future wife Eleanor Smith and they were married on June 23, 1950. They lived in Oxnard, then later Camarillo where they raised their family of 3 sons, David Eugene, Charles Douglas and Gregory Allen. Chuck was a successful building contractor and owned his own business, Dodson framing, He built many homes in the Ventura County area. In 1970 he retired from the construction business and moved his family to Exeter where he owned and farmed Citrus. Chuck and Eleanor loved to travel in their motorhome. They traveled all over the United States including Alaska and Canada. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He even built 3 houseboats that they along with his family enjoyed. He was preceded in death by his sister Doris Johnson, brothers, Bill, Harold, Arlis, Clark, Joe and his son Gregory. He will be missed by his wife, sons, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. There will be a private family service Exeter Cemetery on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10:00 am
