Obituary:
Linda Charlene Wankum was born on June 4, 1946 in Alameda, CA to Curtis N. and Thelma L. (Cox) Jones. She passed away January 7, 2019 at the age of 72. She was raised in Delano where she attended schools. She met Michael A. Wankum there and they married in 1963. They resided in the Bakersfield area for many years until moving to Exeter in 2011 to be near their grandchildren. Charlene volunteered many years with the Tulare County Library doing research and data entry. She loved to sing and was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s. Charlene was very active with her granddaughters’ sports and activities, which brought her joy. Michael A. Wankum passed away in 2016.
Charlene is survived by two daughters, Melissa Sayler and husband Kevin of Three Rivers, Shana Silva and husband Chad of Woodlake. She is also survived by her two granddaughters Jesseca Silva and Sydney Silva along with her loving dog Kacie. Charlene will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Shana and Missy, I was so sorry to read of your mother’s passing in the paper this morning and also sorry to hear that your dad had passed previously. Your parents were such lovely people and we had some good times watching you girls play sports all through junior high and high school as well as the band. My deepest sympathy to your family.
